“First Contact” wasn’t just my first completed 3D artwork—it was the moment everything finally clicked.
Up until then, I’d been experimenting, studying, and often second-guessing myself. But this piece felt different. For the first time, I wasn’t simply following tutorials or adjusting sliders at random. I was creating with purpose. And when I finished, I could look at it and feel genuinely proud.
The title, First Contact, works on two levels: it reflects the theme of the piece itself, and it captures that personal moment of connection—when my ideas, skills, and tools finally met. It was like reaching out to something new and realizing, I belong here.
That project became more than just an artwork. It marked the beginning of my confidence as a 3D artist and storyteller—the very first step toward building the worlds and characters I used to only imagine.
